I started mat Pilates with Lisa during the beginning of our COVID lockdown with the intention of moving my body a few days a week. I did not realize how much I was going to love Pilates and how much it would positively affect my physical and mental health. Showing up on zoom 3 times a week and prioritizing myself with Pilates has helped me in so many ways. I am the most flexible I have been in my life. Even when I was an athlete in high school, I didn’t have the strength in my body that I do right now. Pilates has helped me love the way I feel in my body and it is such a good feeling!

Lisa often talks about Pilates as being a “mind/body connection and it is so true. Pilates has been a pillar for me with mental health by decreasing my anxiety, decreasing depression, practicing mindfulness, and helping me stay energized. I have suffered from lower back pain most of my life and assumed that it was something I was just going to have to deal with. Unbeknownst to me, it was a result of poor posture. Mat Pilates has transformed my posture and resolved my back pain. Mat Pilates is something that I will continue as long as I am physically capable. I only wish I had discovered it sooner!

I love doing Pilates on the reformer with Lisa!! I had a cancerous tumor and part of my spine removed and was having difficulties finding a way to exercise that didn’t hurt and could be effective for my body. I feel this has been my answer to strengthen and tone! After just one week or doing Pilates with Lisa, I felt taller and was standing up straighter than before. Now I am noticing my arms and legs starting to tone and my waist -“sling system” as Lisa says- start to pull my waist in. The workout offers so much variety, it is fun and challenging and works the entire body. I also can’t say enough about Lisa and her knowledge of the body and how that correlates to the reformer/movements. She doesn’t just tell you what to do, she tells you why and how so you can connect best for your specific body in class but also outside of class. Her passion, understanding, and knowledge make this reformer workout optimal!! I’m addicted 💓

I began practicing Pilates on the reformer under Lisa’s instruction 4 years ago after experiencing lower back pain. I tried chiropractic treatment and many other forms of rehabilitation prior to meeting Lisa but nothing seemed to eliminate the pain for more than a few weeks. Working with Lisa has not only eliminated my back pain but it has strengthened my entire body. Lisa has provided me with instruction on the reformer as well as mat Pilates and personalized stretching routines to open my chest and reverse my computer posture. My doctor recommended that I go see Lisa to help me with my chronic back pain. Pilates has strengthened my core and my back pain has gone away. I attribute all of this to Lisa! What started with curing my back pain quickly evolved into a practice that has enhanced my passion – training and competing with my horse.
